Sudo Health LLC

Your Healthcare Data. Your Permissions.

Healthcare Informatics and AI Consulting. Open-source tools, HIPAA-grade security, and radical transparency for organizations ready to take back root-level control of their data.

Principles

What I won't compromise on.

Open source, always.

Every tool and framework I recommend is open source, community-audited, and free from vendor lock-in. Healthcare organizations deserve full control over their AI infrastructure. That means no dependence on a vendor's roadmap, a vendor's pricing, or a vendor's continued existence.

Security isn't an add-on.

HIPAA compliance, PHI protection, and zero-trust architecture are starting points, not afterthoughts. I apply an MCP framework mindset to every pipeline I touch: audit the boundaries, validate the contracts, assume nothing.

I document what I deploy.

Radical transparency is how trust gets earned. Every deployment ships with documentation clear enough for your team to operate, debug, and improve without me. If I can't explain it, I don't deploy it.

The commons matters.

I contribute upstream, share templates, and help build the healthcare AI commons. Smaller organizations and safety-net hospitals benefit alongside major health systems. Strategy doesn't have to be a moat.

Services

Fixed-scope packages.
Transparent pricing.

Healthcare teams get pitched dozens of AI vendors. I help you separate real from hype, safe from risky, sustainable from dead end. Every engagement is scoped for how hospital IT actually works.

About

Why "sudo"?

In Linux, sudo is the command that elevates your permissions. It gives you full control over the system. Healthcare organizations have generated mountains of data but have been locked out of leveraging it by proprietary vendors who hold the keys.

Sudo Health exists to give healthcare its permissions back.

I'm Daniel Smith, a Healthcare Informatics & AI Consultant. I work with CIOs, CMIOs, clinical informaticists, and data science teams to adopt AI on foundations they can inspect, audit, and own. Open-source first. Security as foundation. Nothing deployed that can't be explained.

The work spans open-source LLM infrastructure (Ollama, vLLM, Open WebUI), MCP-based tool orchestration, HIPAA-aware pipelines, FHIR-integrated AI patterns, and clinical validation. If you're evaluating AI vendors and can't get a straight answer about what happens to your data, that's the problem I help with.
